I just want to express how much appreciation I have for the staff at Doherty Funeral Home. From the beginning they were amazing and very patient with our family. Especially after losing my mom in January 2025 and my dad in October 2025. They made sure everything was exactly what we wanted and how we wanted for both services; especially during such a hard time for our family in all the same year. They will always have a special place in my heart; and I will always remember everything they did to make my parents' services absolutely amazing.

There are just no words to describe Chris. He was an angel. He just made everything so beautiful and run so smoothly.

I particularly appreciated Bill's extra efforts to see that my father had his military honors as part of his funeral. I really found Bill's advice and hard work comforting. I would highly recommend Doherty Funeral Home to my family and friends.

Chris Gillis has been wonderful to work with. We are in our late 60s and have had a string of 7 loved ones from the previous generation pass on. 5 of those 7 funeral were handled by Chris. He is like a member of our family and [we have] gotten to know him (and he us). He is a kind and gentle person who makes the whole experience of funeral arrangements and the actual event, much easier to handle. He thinks of things and offers suggestions for things that we never even thought of. Chris understands our budget restrictions and helps us work within our budget. When something is outside of budget, Chris found us very suitable alternatives that fit. Chris and all of the staff were friendly and treated our Mom, and our family with dignity and respect. It made the whole sad experience much more easy to deal with. And... after over a year of near starvation, we weren't even sure that we would be able to hold a viewing, because we weren't sure that Mom would be presentable in a manner that she would approve. But the staff did a wonderful job and Mom looked beautiful. We were so happy with the results, and the whole experience. Thank you all, so much!

Martha was great and at some point I will reach out for her help again. She helped relieve the stress and that is what we needed. We can't thank her enough!

[Sandy Jones] gave me a wonderful folder with checklists and information regarding all duties that needed to be tended to. She also explained things that I didn't initially understand. I have enclosed this note to share additional thoughts regarding the exceptional service and experience Doherty's provided for my beloved husband Jerry's funeral. I worked very hard assembling his storyboards and videos. Many who attended said it was one of the best funerals they had ever been to!

However, the staff at Doherty's went above and beyond to address all my questions and calls. There were more than a few... Martha was very knowledgeable, and a joy to interact with. I do not think the staff could have done more. This included answering the phone after hours and correcting an error I made on the online obituary almost immediately. We had a big crowd and there was plenty of parking. Everyone also seemed to fit comfortably inside for the speeches. At the last minute, I requested the insert to the guest book be changed so I would have addresses, no problem, it was done.

All the items I received in their planning bag made sense and I used everything but the thank you cards. (I had them custom made.) Doherty's did a fabulous job and made an extremely difficult time a little easier. Thank you.

Please know that we are thankful for the superb services received at Doherty once again. From removal to burial, everything flowed magnificent. Limousine drivers very respectful, and ready with umbrellas for us. We are so crushed over my mother, we could not have done this without Chris' help. Chris Gillis, the Funeral Director, made the entire process very easy. He was extremely helpful, even with things that were not his responsibility such as getting the headstone engraved.
