Robert Kevin Pearce, known as Bob to his friends and family, passed away peacefully on February 23, 2026. Born on June 3, 1949, to John and Ann (Touhey) Pearce, both of whom preceded him in death, Bob's life was one marked by devotion to his family, his career, and his community.
Bob grew up in Wilmington and attended St. Matthew’s grade school and Salesianum High School. Bob was an avid sports fan who enjoyed playing football, basketball, and baseball. He then went to University of Delaware, where he earned a degree in finance. During his time at UD, Bob became a member of the Theta Chi Fraternity and a passionate UD football fan. After college, Bob married Renita and then went on to Villanova Law School, where he obtained his Juris Doctorate.
Professionally, Bob was a dedicated lawyer. He was a partner at two esteemed law firms, with his legal skills and fairness earning the respect of colleagues and clients alike. His dedication to serving his community was evident with his active involvement with various associations, including his roles as both a Game Chair and a member of the Board of Trustees of Blue-Gold (DFRC), an organization close to his heart. He served on the Board of DFRC for over 33 years. UD football was another love of his, and he attended home games and listened to away games on his headphones while mowing the lawn. He was also a devoted fan of his grandchildren’s sports teams. Another aspect of his life was his faith; he served on the Parish Council and as a lector at St. John the Beloved Church. The highlights of Bob’s years were summer vacations to the beach with his family, during which he loved to read books and play with his grandchildren. Bob’s loyalty was unmatched to his family, his sports teams, and his job.
Bob's life was enriched by his loving family. He leaves behind his cherished wife, Renita (Moglioni) Pearce; and their three daughters, Karen Riggs (Tom), Maureen Bartocci (Anthony), and Megan Murphy (Billy). His role as a grandfather to Ellie, Delaney, Nick, Luke, Annabelle, Declan, and Sloane brought him immense joy and pride. Bob’s grandchildren called him “Scooter” after his favorite baseball player, Phil Rizzuto. He is also survived by his brothers, Jack, Tom, and Dick Pearce (Tina), along with his sister, Ann Pearce. His brother, Michael Pearce, predeceased him. Bob's extended family included his brother-in-law, Tom Moglioni (Mary); sister-in-law, Mary Ann D'Amico (Chris); and his seven nieces and three nephews.
