Richard Allen Woerner

Richard Allen Woerner, 62, of Newark, Delaware passed away unexpectedly at his home on Monday, March 25, 2024.  Born in Wilmington on March 4, 1962, he was a son of the late Leonard and Patricia (Burns) Woerner.

Richard worked as a carpenter until his retirement due to disability.  He enjoyed a variety of fun activities with his family, especially those involving the beach.  He was an avid Dale Earnhardt Nascar fan, as well as a Philadelphia Eagles fan.  Richard enjoyed comedy movies and television shows, and his greatest pleasure was spending time with his grandchildren.

Richard will be dearly missed by his wife, Itzi Guerra-Woerner; his children, Richard Woerner and Priscilla Hauske (husband, Michael); his grandchildren, Tyler and Alexandra Hauske.

In addition, Richard is survived by his brothers, Leonard, Michael, Jerry, Jeffrey and Francis.

Family and friends are invited to visit at the Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Road, Pike Creek on Wednesday, April 3 from 10:00 – 11:00AM.  A Catholic funeral service will begin at 11:00AM, immediately followed by interment in All Saints Cemetery.
