James R. Walmsley, Sr.

James R. "Jim" Walmsley Sr., age 71, of Wilmington DE, sadly left us on March 19th, 2024 following a short illness.

A graduate of Wilmington high, Jim loved reading, history, singing, and the stage.  He enjoyed fishing and crabbing.  As a member of the Wilmington Elks Lodge, Jim had a passion for competitive shuffleboard and extra maraschino cherries in his drink.  He was a loyal friend and was always there to offer a kind ear.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Judy Walmsley; his sister, Joan E. Walmsley; his daughter, Tracy Pryor, and her husband, Brendan Pryor; his son, James Walmsley Jr., and his wife, Fredia Walmsley; his 3 grandchildren, Lawrence Walmsley, Hunter Pryor, and Lucas Walmsley.

Family and friends are invited to visit on Thursday, April 4th, 2024 from 11AM-12PM at the Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Rd., Wilmington, DE 19808. A memorial service will begin at 12PM.
